Building Health: Planning and designing for health and happiness.
Conference reflects Marmot recommendations on health and built environment.
A pioneering toolkit was launched on Friday 11 December by Ed Balls MP, Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, at Beam in Wakefield.
The activity-based toolkit has been developed to capture the views of young people aged 9-14, who are often left out of decisions that affect their lives. Developed by CABE and Beam, with The Architecture Centre, Bristol and Kent Architecture Centre, it explores what young people think about how local places are used and how they can be improved.
How can we create environments that encourage health & well-being? Building Health brings together professionals, academics and policy-makers to share inspirational stories of success and identify how we can work together more effectively.
2009 marks the 175th anniversary of the founding of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). RIBA 175 celebrates this milestone, and the remarkable buildings which have resulted from architectural competitions, with an exhibition of 175 RIBA competition-winning projects.
