A Carriage Drive to the Castle Perilous
Thursday 25 May, 17:00-19:00, FREE
Inspired by Jane Austen’s Northanger Abbey, enjoy Repton’s scenic carriage-drive, sublime cliff edge path, Gothic castle and Hamlet through an expert led walk around an intact scrap of Regency England. Led by Professor Timothy Mowl attendees will be guided through Blaise Castle Estate reliving the architecture and arts of the gothic era.
This is a five mile walk from Castle Lodge, Blaise Castle Estate, Henbury Hill, BS10 7AE and will end at Blaise Hamlet, Hallen Rd, Bristol, BS10 7QY. This walk is graded at moderate difficulty with more challenging slopes, mixed terrain and gradients to be expected.
There is a bus stop near the start of the walk for the number 1 service. There is also a car park by the children’s playground - walkers will need to walk up Henbury Hill to the start point. Parking also available in a small lay-by below the Lodge and on the street.
Booking via Eventbrite
